LDC United and Travel Team Tryouts for Soccer Season 2017-2018

Players interested in playing on an LDC United premier team or an Travel Select team should attend the tryouts scheduled for their age
group.  These tryouts are for the soccer year 2017-2018.  In 2016-2017 US Soccer (youth soccer's governing agency) changed the age
range requirements for teams. It is based upon birth year instead of school year.  Our club along with every other soccer club in the
USA must comply with this requirement.

Players should tryout in their age group but may also tryout for older age group teams.  There is no additional fees required to tryout in an
older age group.  A player who tryouts in an older age group may be advised it is better for their further development that they play in their
age group.

To determine a players age group, subtract the players birth year from 2018, for example, player born 8-1-2004, subtract 2004 from 2018 =
14, Player is a U14 for 2017-2018 soccer season.

Every attempt is made to hold fair and open tryouts.  No team placement is guaranteed but must be earned through the tryout
evaluation process.  Independent evaluators will provide their assessment and compliment current coaching staff evaluations.  Our goal is to
select the best players trying out for the top LDC premier team and form additional premier and or travel teams as ability levels indicate.

Tryout fee is $15 regardless of how many tryout sessions attended.  This fee includes a t-shirt.  Please pay by check or cash at the
tryout registration table.  Please arrive 30 minutes before the tryout to register and warm-up.  To give yourself the best opportunity to be
evaluated and placed on the best team for your ability, you are encouraged to attend both tryouts.

The tryout locations are "In The Net Sports Complex", 798 Airport Road - Palmyra, PA 17078 (ITN) and Lower Dauphin Middle School, 251
Quarry Road, Hummelstown, PA 17036 (LDMS).  Please note the location of your tryout.

You do not need to pre-register for Tryouts, just come to the Tryouts early for sign-up.  We also recommend you don't complete the
online registration process for LDC United or Travel until after Tryouts are completed and you are advised of team placement.

Our goal is to make team selections within a week of the tryout and notify players. It is expected that players acceptances be made within 72
hours.  If a response is not received within 72 hours that roster position may be offered to another player.  Tryout results will be posted on this
website.

******Please Note that Tryouts for LDC's U19 teams are by invite only. If you are interested in being considered for a U19 team, please feel free
to reach out to vlgourley@verizon.net for additional information.*******

LDC Club Overview

Key Information

• Club – LDC United is organized as a soccer club within the Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Soccer Association governing guidelines

• A Nike Premier Club – The LDC United Soccer Club has been given Nike Premier Club status. This status distinguishes our club as one of
top Nike soccer clubs in the nation. In 2017-2018 soccer year, the registration fee includes a uniform kit.

• Leagues and Tournaments

o CPYSL (Central Pennsylvania Youth Soccer League), PAGS (Philadelphia Girls Soccer League), Delco (Delaware County Youth Soccer
League), EDP (Eastern Developmental Program). Our teams play in leagues that provide the competitive level to challenge their abilities.

o Tournaments - Our Coaching Director directs teams to appropriate level tournaments for their age group and ability level.  Younger
teams
play most often locally while our old teams may travel primarily in the Eastern US.

o State Cup – In 2015 five LDC teams advanced to the NCS (top level) semi-finals, more than any club in EPYSA. One team (U16 boys)
won
State Cup. Participation in State Cup competition is expected of all LDC teams. In 2016 four teams made it to the semi-finals, three LDC teams
played in
the NCS State Cup finals.  All LDC teams are encouraged to play in State Cup competitions.  Two LDC teams were Challenge Cup Champions in
2016.

• Player Development

o Pro Coaching – We are extremely proud of our coaching staff.  All have solid high level playing and coaching experience.  32 or the 42
teams in LDC United have pro coaches.  Those non-pro coached teams have a pro trainer that works with the team in the fall and spring
seasons.

o Early Development - Beginning in 2017-2018 the U9-U12 Age Group teams will have Technical Director overseeing the coaching, team
activities and
player development.  Denis Clarke will be Technical Director of the U9 to U12 girls teams and Austin Siodlowski will be technical director of the
boys U9
to U12 teams.

o Extra Training – Extra training opportunities are provided to include individual skills training, fitness training, strength training and
goalkeeper clinics.

• Fee Structure

o Registration Fee – The registration fee covers uniforms, equipment, program administration, club operations, registration, maintenance
and LDMS field use.  This initial fee must be paid to complete online registration.

o Program Fee - LDC has established a baseline of activities that all teams will include in their yearly plans and have standardized the
collection of fees for those activities.  The Program Fee covers, tournaments (4), state cup entry fee, referee fees for fall league, league,
player,
team and insurance fees, winter indoor facilities cost, special training activities, summer soccer camp (U9-U12 teams), and if the team is
professionally coached, the coaching fee and the coaches overnight travel allowance for tournaments out the area.  Each team manager will
collect this program fee and send to the Treasurer as per the following schedule: Aug 15 40%, Oct 15 20%, Dec 15 20%, Feb 15 20%.
Teams may do individual/team fundraising to cover the Program Fee.  Teams playing in more than four tournaments or doing additional soccer
related activities will need to collect additional funds. Acknowledgement of the obligation to fully pay the Program Fee for the soccer year is
required as part of a parents/players acceptance to participate on an LDC team.

o The program fees are customized by team depending primarily on coaching status, age group and level of anticipated competitions.  The
program fee per player is available through the Team Manager.  In general, our U9-U12 teams not pro coached have program fees of
approximately $550 per year, U9 to U12 pro coached teams, $700 to $800, our U13-U15 teams have program fees from $700-$950.  Our
U16-U19 teams
have program fees $1000-$1150.

• Player Participation Guidelines –

o It is important to understand that LDC United is a year round program.  There is an expected level of participation for players, coaches
and parents.  This participation level is different depending on the age group.  For younger teams (U9-U12) we recognize players are
participating in other sports in their primary season.  We would encourage parents and players to make every effort to continue participating
in winter and spring season soccer activities. It is expected all players will participate in spring state cup competitions.  For the older teams
(U13-U18)
the expectation is that players and parents have made a choice that soccer is one of their primary sports and therefore will participate in all
the training
and playing opportunities available.

o Playing Time – We are developing players first and foremost.  To develop, players need to practice and play competitive games.  All
players get equal practice time and from there earn their playing time. At the younger ages players should get equal playing time and learn to
play
multiple positions. At the older ages coaches determine playing time and positional play based on their assessment of players and competition.

• Fields

o LD Middle School Fields – The club has controlled access to four excellent playing surfaces, the two lighted field turf fields and the two
grass soccer fields.  This resource gives us opportunities to showcase not only our soccer talent but our beautiful area.  All LDC teams may
use LDMS for training.

o Keller Field – Our game site for U9 and U10 play 7v7; U11 and U12 teams play 8v8 soccer.

• Organization – We understand the importance of good communications.  We want to hear your feedback, the good and the not so good.
The club administration is available via email, phone or face to face meetings to deal with any problems and listen to concerns.  We are
committed to making this the best choice for premier youth soccer.
